GROUND RULES
OF THE SANDWICH SPORTSMAN’S CLUB
Infractions to the Ground Rules below, as agreed-upon by the membership & Board of SSC, could result in disciplinary action by the Board of Directors & membership up to and including assessment for any damages and/or loss of membership status.
#1. Members are required to sign in and out when entering and leaving SSC. Members are required to close and lock the gate when entering or leaving club grounds at all times. An exception to the gate being closed and locked at all times would include when the Club has scheduled events.
#2. All garbage MUST be put in trash containers and taken to the dumpster outside the gate.
#3. Use of alcohol is permitted in moderation only! NO alcohol is permitted at the pistol range, the trap range or at any shooting event.
#4. No one under the age of 21 is allowed to possess or consume alcohol on club grounds.
#5. Only members can serve on Committees, unless otherwise approved by SSC Board members.
#6. Membership cards & keys are not transferable. Members must carry their card at all times when at the Club and show your card if asked.
#7. All members must fill out a new application and waiver every year if they wish to maintain their membership.
#8. No climbing on trees, fences, berms etc……
#9. Picnic tables, if moved, shall be put back where you found them.
#10. Anyone discovered destroying or stealing club property will lose their membership permanently.
#11. Children under 12 years of age must be under adult supervision at all times by a parent or responsible adult.
#12. Club members are not to park on outside roads as they are private.
#13. All pets must be on a leash or chain at all times and you must clean up the pet’s waste.
#14. No one 18 years of age or under will be allowed on club grounds after 10 pm without a parent or responsible adult.
#15. No club property will be loaned to or borrowed by anyone without board of directors or an elected Officer’s permission.
#16. Overnight camping will be allowed only on the North side of the Lake in the campgrounds. Any exceptions to this rule must go through the Rental Committee.
#17. No tent, trailer, or camper of any kind is to be left unattended on the campground for 2 or more consecutive days.
#18. Camper / tent cannot remain on premises more than 10 consecutive days without permission from the board.
#19. Camper / tent cannot remain more than 12 days in any 30 day period.
#20. All tents, trailers, or campers must be removed after 5 days, or have prior approval, from the Rental Committee for up to 2 weeks stay. A $5.00 per day electric usage is required after five (5) days.
#21. Member-owned watercraft are not to be left or stored overnight on the shore or in the water of Parris Lake or SSC grounds unless the owner of such watercraft is camping overnight at SSC. All boats belonging to SSC will be stored appropriately on shore when not in use. Oars and life jackets are to be returned to Hagen House unless directed otherwise. Internal combustion engines (e.g., gasoline engines) are not allowed to be used on Parris Lake. If a member’s personal watercraft is equipped with an internal combustion engine, it must be raised and out of the water while on Parris Lake.
#22. Life jackets must be on boats at all times when boat is in use. Children under 16 years of age must wear a life jacket at all times while in a boat or canoe. Life jackets are located in the Hagen House, and are to be returned there after use.
#23. Young children must be strictly supervised by an adult family member when around the lake and are NOT allowed on the dock without an adult club member being present on the dock. 2
#24. Open fires in designated pits only!!! Do not relocate or remove metal fire pit rings from their designated locations. Members and guest are permitted to use the burn pit as a group campfire option. Fires must me put completely out when no longer being tended.
#25. Only members and their immediate family members, plus two guests or one guest family, are allowed to camp overnight without prior written approval from the Rental Committee. The member will be responsible for their family and guest's compliance with all club rules.
#26. Swimming is not allowed on club property.
#27. Quiet time is from 10 p.m. until 8 a.m.
#28. Pistol range hours are from 9 a.m. until 8:30p.m, or a ½ hour before dusk, whichever comes first.
#29. Members, their significant others, and their children under the age of 18 are entitled to all privileges of the Club. Members may, from time to time bring guests to club activities, provided however; that guests are at all times accompanied by a member and said member shall be responsible for his guests and accept all responsibility for their activities and release Sandwich Sportsman Club from all liability in case of accident of any kind. With the exception of the disabled, any family member at age 19 must apply for membership to the Club or will be considered a guest.
#30. Members are responsible for their guests and must accompany them while on club grounds.
#31. No member or guest who is impaired in any way will be tolerated on the Club grounds.
#32. A member may bring up to three (3) guests or family members at one time to the rifle / pistol range or to fish at the lake at one time, with the understanding that the guests may not keep other members from using the Range or lake. Any member who brings any guest more than two times should encourage this guest to become a member. Members will be responsible for their guest's compliance with all club rules.
#33. Pistol Range shooters are permitted to fire all legally owned, center fire or rim fire rifles and pistols, up to and including .50 caliber firearms of pistol caliber. Only handguns shooting conventional handgun cartridges or rifles firing conventional handgun cartridges are allowed on the range. Fully automatic firearms of any caliber are not permitted on the Range. Muzzle loading rifles are also not permitted. If you aren’t sure if your firearm is permitted on the range, ask a club Range Safety Office (RSO) or the Chief RSO. Shooters are permitted to fire all legally owned shotguns using target shells on the trap range. Shot size larger than 7.5 and slugs are not permitted with exception of special events. Under no circumstance is tracer, armor piercing, or other exotic ammunition to be used on the range. Additionally, the Shooting Sports committee and the Club’s Chief Range Safety Officer have produced an S.O.P. further outlining the operation and functions of the range, the trap facility and the archery facilities. Please ask for a copy of the S.O.P. if you wish further detail regarding shooting sports.
#34. The Club’s facilities are NOT to be used for commercial purposes not formally approved in advance by the Board of Directors. If and when such is allowed, the member will be responsible for their guests filling out the proper waiver(s) and for their compliance with all club rules
